Night Of The Hunter is playing at The Astor this sunday! I don't care if you've seen it, it ain't the same as seeing it at the astor. I went last year and it was magnificent, never enjoyed the film so much. That dark fairytale type scene where they're floating down the river, my god it looked amazing on the big screen...

I really loved Amy Winehouse. People would go on about her great voice but I though her song-writing and personal delivery and just general messed up soulful presence was the real thing to behold. Some of those songs, "Love Is A Losing Game", "I Wake Up Alone", shit. The record was great but it was some of these stripped back performances that people caught on video that really gave me the shivers and made me think, 'wow, what a talent right there.' Hope you enjoy and get some shivers and remember her fondly x

Wu-Tang are playing at festival hall again this saturday night. I went to the last show and it wasn't anything too special, didn't seem like they'd put much thought into it and as matlok said, "I kinda felt like both me and them were a little bit past those feelings in our lives..."

But then again, after the gig, i heard some kid say "oh my gaaaawd, that was the best 2 hours of my loooiiiife". Make of that what you will!

All the same, it gives us a chance to wallow in wu-ness and enjoy all the old records again. I'll be playing all Wu-Tang in the second hour of the show this week, and in the meantime, dig this great lengthy article on the making of Only Built For Cuban Linx, track by track. It's long, but if you're a Wu-Tang nut, you'll love it!

Looking forward to doing the show again! One week off is too long... Got a bunch of old fifties "cut-in" records of the buchanan and goodman flavour to play, plus a bunch good stuff i picked up at the yahyahs record fair, including the fatboys "jailhouse rap"! Thanks zach. And since the wu-tang gig is this friday, i think this weeks "wu tang of the week" will take up the entire second hour of the program...
