Was doing a little research into the song "red's dream" from our latest slow grind mix, and can across this impossibly cool, amazingly photographed video of big boll broonzy playing his precursor song in some kind of noirish, candlelit cafe for a dreamy eyed young white girl. The close-ups on the glass are too much!

Saturday April 26th marks marks the 1st birthday of SLOW GRIND FEVER, melbourne's only slow dance party. We'll be celebrating a year of slow dancing in a haze of smoke and dim red light with more smoke, dimmer lights, and slower, spookier, sweeter, swinginer records than ever. Plus we'll be having a slow grind limbo competition at midnight with a gold crown for the limbo king and queen, 45 record packs to be given away as a door raffler and as also for best male and female dancer, and possibly some special birthday things we haven't thought of yet! We're gonna have a real good time together...

Tonight, I got my usual residency gig at the Sporting Club in Brunswick from 7-10pm, and the last night of my thursday residency at yajyahs from midnight till 3

Saturday is SLOW GRIND FEVER 1st BIRTHDAY GRINDATHON, upstairs at the tote from 10 till 2:30, with me, pierre and mohair on record duties. There will be record giveaways, a slow limbo, and other birthday stuff too!

Next thursday may 1st i'll be at the sporting club from 7 to 10 as usual

Next friday may 2nd I'll be Djing at LuWow between sets from The Vibraphonic Orchestra and kujo kings

BRIDES @ THE VIC IN BRUNSWICK THIS SATDEE NIGHT

Richie1250 & The Brides Of Christ bring muchly thrustular beat happenings to the the Brunswick locality of The Victoria Hotel! Mit much flailing of limbs and james brownson dropping to the knee to cause much injury, the music erupts like hot explosion to coating the voyuer with thrills and pleaure. Multitude “ooohs” and “ahhhs” to be heard. With tellings of ambulant whippet and love like bouncing ball, all frenzied fans can relate these thing to their personage.

For appertif, promotional wall placards claim the Pork Chop Party to performantage, but these is nein correct! Appertif is to provided by THE BRAVES, most excitement young cowboys streaming down from hills with bandanas on face like train robbery men of yesteryear.

To banish times of silence and reflection, the combined persons CHOOK RACE DJ’s will to rotate the most meaningful meaningless vinyl discs at all time for the party members pleasure.

Seeing as this will be the last show before the hunx & his punx / shannon & the clams show at copacobana on thurs the 17th, I think we will have a bit of a special on those two and play a good bucketful of their records. Stella Angelico and The Bowers and Cambodian Space project also playing on the same night, so probably stuff from them too!

I'll also be doing a giveaway for the XZIBIT's gig at the espy that very same night, and probably pulling out some of his old records too!

Danger 5, Season 1 (Dario Russo & David Ashby, 2012)

Did I post about the amazing web series Italian Spiderman on here a few years ago? Anyway, if you never saw it watch at least episode 1 right now and then come back.

So the guys who made Italian Spiderman have now also made a full length TV series for SBS called "Danger 5", and it most excellent. It's like a 60's pulp novel style vision of WWII, done with all the panache and fine attention to crappy detail you remember from Italian Spiderman. It is most excellent. There are Nazi Dinosaurs with crystals implanted in their heads to put them under Nazi mind control, that should be about all I need to tell you to make you watch this thing. I also love the way Hitler, though still evil of course, is played by this very soft, nice old man who always looks a bit dazed. He's a great Hitler.

It's out now on DVD and i-tunes and whatever, and apparently there's a season 2 on the way this year!
