Like A Flower In The Rain (Charles Bukowski, 1974ish)

God bless that Quang Dinh and his cotton socks for leaving "Charles Bukowski - The Pleasures Of the Damned - Poems 1961-1993" in the bathroom. Every time I go to expel my toxins I get to catch up with Charles and he tells me a funny story or a moving story or a funny moving story, and it really make my day. The last paragraph of this one really tickled me this evening...

Hmmmmm, so many new records in my shelves and and crates and on my floor and on my coffee table and stacked on top of every chair I couldn't even begin to imagine which particular ones i'll play tomorrow. RANDOM ELVIS STUFF 4 U

Here's a montage of Elvis and Ann Margaret looking gooood set the to the best song from the soundtrack that got cut from the movie

Here's one of my favourite on stage rants where he threatens tongue based violence on those spreading rumours that he's on the gear. Love the reference to "freaks that carry your luggage"...

here's an odd train wreck of a sketch where Bill Hicks goes on a rather Elvis-like rant deriding Charlie Hodge, and it's totally dying but he just can't stop doing this poorly thought out Charlie Hodge bit...

Here's a great edit of funny banter from elvis vegas rehearsals

And finally, here's the actual big production number of Viva Las Vegas. Forgot how bongotastic this thing is! Looking forward to performing it at THE LAST GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!

Dock Ellis & The LSD No-No by James Blagden

Of all the cool freaky things I saw at the freaky cinema down at Golden Plains on the weekend, this excellent animated accompaniment to 70's major league pitcher Dock Ellis recounting the story of throwing a perfect game while tripping balls on LSD was the most memorable. Thanks Golden Plains cinema team!
