FATTI FRANCES BIG OL MMW GIG AT SIGNAL
Fatti Frances put out my favourite album of the year, and now she's put together a big ol show for melbourne music week, and it's FREE, and i can't go coz i'm out of town. SUX. But YOU should go if you can, there will be lots of smoke and lasers and fine fine muziks.
Here's a couple o my fave fatti jams from her various releases:
And here's the deets of the gig:
8:00pm until 11:00pm
FATTI FRANCES, MOON DICE, VACUUM, FAIR MAIDEN plus
RRR DJs NO PANTS and ZONK VISION COLLECTIVE
Wrapping up MMW for the all ages, Fatti Frances performs her signature brutal concoctions of synthesizer waves, wonky doom-like bass and assaulting RnB beats, in a special live performance outside on the Les Erdi Plaza.
For one evening only, the forecourt will come alive with a night of intense, addictive hip-hop beats, and just when you think it can’t get more trance-like, loose or sweaty, Signal will turn on the smoke machines and lasers to heighten the senses.
With special guests:
A new band featuring members of Isle Adore, The Ancients and Love of Diagrams. Moon Dice continues on from where Isle Adore's Lazy 7" left off. Bringing some blazin' guitars and A+ melodies to the people!
Jenny Branagan (Nun) and Andrea Blake (Chrome Dome/Asps) curate a collection of ‘found sounds’ from car parks and empty construction sites along with diagetic digital samples. Utilising rhythms informed by the cyclical patterns of nature reflected by analogue machinery, VACUUM aim to destroy and rebuild constantly.
Led by Ellen Carey, this Adelaide-based mystical folk troupe create unique enchanted songs and nursery rhymes that charm and haunt in equal parts.
RRR DJs NO PANTS
Sara Savage and Daphne Shum run NO PANTS music blog, celebrating music involving women and female-identifying artists both locally and internationally, old and new. Music by women, not 'women's music'. The NO PANTS radio show is hosted by Sara Savage every Sunday at 10pm on Triple R 102.7 FM.
Totally whack visual collective feat. Danny Sebastian Wild, Jason Galea and many more
