Did anyone hear Allen Toussaint getting interviewed last saturday on RRR? Talk about the supreme southern gentleman! What a marvellous speaking voice that man has. And he remembers everything like it was yesterday... He's playing at The Palace (aka the old metro) next wendnesday, and although it's quite expensive (about 70 bux), i've never seen him and would feel quite disrespctul if i stayed at home scratching my nuts while the master came through town. So a paying tribute I shall go. Hope some of you can manage to scratch up the money and do the same. He's written and produced and piano'd so many great songs it's ridiculous, but here's a few that leap to mind...
