Paul Wibier - "Satan" (Born Mean), 1969

For a little while I was having a hard time being interested in anything other than this song...

It's from a biker movie I have yet to see called "Satan's Sadists". A mystery man going by the name "Harley Hatcher" composed and arranged the soundtrack, and though it's quite a cult item, to me most of it's fairly forgettable. Thankfully the best song on it slipped out as a promo 45 at some point, and slipped into my hands recently. The organy 70's arrangement and the croony singing is pretty great, but really it's all about the lyrics.

All together now...

"I was born mean
By the time I was 12
I was killing
killing for Satan..."

  2. Do you mostly serve as an author just for your site or maybe for some other Internet portals?

  3. I mostly serve as a radio DJ and musician. This blog is just a place to post up the weeks show, promote local gigs and let friends know about movies/books/records i think the might enjoy...

  4. On my 40th birthday I did my one and only stage performance, riffing a mash of the lyrics to Satan together with Jim Morrison's The End, while a local band performed Sir Paul Raggedy Flagg's classic, Momma Poppa Romper Stomper behind me. It was epic!
