HORACE SILVER TRIO - SAFARI (Blue Note, 1952)

I never tire of this record. It seems like the perfect expression of the great partnership of Horace Silver and Art Blakey, just cascading all over each other for two and a half minutes. Of course Gene Ramey is in there somewhere too with his bass, but I never seem to notice. Ebullient, inventive, incandescent, effluvient, aromatic, i can't say enough! And that press roll thing that Art Blakey does at 1:08 just killlls me...
