KING JAMES VERSION - "HE'S FOREVER"

Spent the day listening through the latest big box set from The Numero Group, this one focusing on things recorded at the Boddie Recording Company of Cleveland, Ohio.

Lotsa great stuff on there, fuzzed out psychedelic jams and sweet vocal group soul and messy funk skronkers, but an immediate favourite is this joint "He's Forever" by a couple of guys who had a kind of old testament bible stage show, where they dressed up like Methuselah (see pic above) and worked it with a hard funk band. They just did one single, recorded live on stage, the B side of which is this intense vamp on the "midnight cowboy" theme. They laugh, they cry, they praise his name! The Lord's, not John Voight's. Enjoy, and if you got the scratch, buy the whole boxset!
